Annual Chestnut Roast
Here at Nella Chestnut Farm, we combine our efforts with a local winery, Hood River Vineyards, and celebrate a chestnut roast with red wine, Italian Style. This event is will be held the November 6-7, 2010, 1pm to 5pm. Come join us for a fun filled day of enjoying chestnuts hot off an open fire and vino.
According to Italian custom, the chestnuts are roasted, peeled and dropped into a glass of red wine. As the wine is sipped, the flavors and aromas of the chestnut mingle with the fruitiness of the wine, creating a unique sensation.
Directions: From Interstate 84, take exit 64. Turn southbound on Hwy 35, then left on to Neal Creek Road. Continue south for 1/4 mile, then turn left at orchard chestnut sign and you are there!
