Worm Castings Available, little or bulk

Posted 7/20/2010
Fresh From the Farm has its worm castings available in small amounts or in bulk. We take great care to produce top quality castings. We do not use chemicals on our farm, so our products are natural and safe.. Worm castings are higher in plant available nutrients than other manures, composts or fertilizers. Worm castings improve soil texture and drainage/moisture retention. Worm castings can bring soils damaged by synthetic fertilizer use, back to life. Worm castings can be used to top dress soils, mix in soil, plant in, start seeds, or make worm casting tea. All worm castings are not the same. The feed stock given to the redworms does make a difference in the end product – The castings! According to research done by specialists at the world-respected Vermiculture/Soil Ecology Department at Ohio State University, and also the Organic Agriculture Centre of Canada, “Vermicompost (and castings) made with hog manure outperformed all other vermicomposts (and castings), as well as commercial fertilizer. “ This is why we have our hog as part of our vermiculture team at Fresh From the farm! This hog helps our redworms produce the best quality castings possible… Completely clean and very effective. These premium worm castings are available for you! We sell by measured volume. A little of our pure castings goes a LONG ways! ½ gallon (8 cups) $12.50 . 1 gallon (16 cups) $25. Discount for bulk orders. Please contact us for details. Our top quality worm castings are available at our Fresh From the Farm booth at the Thursday Hood River Gorge Grown Famers’ Market and the Saturday Stevenson Farmers’ Market. We will make arrangements for you to get castings if you cannot make it to these markets. Please contact us at waconverse@yahoo.com to ask questions or make arrangements for bulk worm castings.
